My goal for this National Novel Writing Month is to challenge myself to write 1000 good words every day. I might even drop this down to 500 good words a day by the end of the month.

I like the idea of NaNoWriMo, but almost always I use it to vomit out words to increase a wordcount, and am too ashamed to do anything with my unfinished story at the end.

This time, I have a more concrete goal in mind. Anything that I write this month that I don’t end up using for zines, I am going to publish in a zine and give it out to people for Christmas. This is more concrete, and more doable than just writing and writing and writing a story I will end up hating come December 1st.
